Message from the Headteacher

Stephen Tanner

I am aged 70 and have been married to my wife Sheila since 1974. We have three grown up children, Stuart our eldest who we lost to cancer a few years ago, Joanne, a fellow governor of the school and David our youngest. I am very interested in education and have my own quite extensive library. Whilst my own school years were a disaster, as a mature student I took three G.C.S.E'S  and an Open University degree. I retired some five years ago and moved to Huddersfield from Ramsbottom in Lancashire as I am totally addicted to my four grandchildren, three of whom have attended the school and wished to provide childcare for them. I have previously been an elected parent governor and chair of the P.T.A at St Joseph's Junior school in Ramsbottom. I am very interested in the "Folkie" activities of East Lancashire and West Yorkshire, The Brittania Coconut Dancer of Bacup, Paceegging in Bury, Middleton, Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley, Sword Dancing and the Sheffield Caroling Tradition. I am also very interested in music, have a fairly enormous cd collection and sing with The Larks of Dean Quire plus Honley Male Voice Choir. I am also a working member of the East Lancashire Railway in Bury.
