Our school day

Every day at Meltham Moor is filled with fun and learning. Here’s an overview of what a normal school day looks like.

Our timetable

  • 8.45am - School gates open

  • 8.50am - Classroom doors open

  • 9am - School gates are locked

After this time, children should enter through the main reception. Registers are taken in classrooms. Children who arrive after 9am are marked as late.

  • 11am Morning Break

  • 11.55am - Nursery AM session ends

  • 12pm-1pm - Key stage 1 lunchtime

  • 12.15pm-1.15pm - Key stage 2 lunchtime

  • 2.15pm-2.30pm - Key stage 1 afternoon break

  • 3.00pm - Nursery PM session ends

  • 3.15pm - End of school day

This is our timetable on a typical day. It is subject to change occasionally to allow for different learning activities, such as for school trips. We will inform parents/carers of any upcoming events or changes.

From reception onwards, children are expected to attend school from 8.45am-3.15pm, which is 32.5 hours per week. Nursery sessions are in the morning (free). Afternoon sessions are also available to pay for or using your 30 hour code, if eligible.

Assemblies

  • 2.45pm - Monday to Thursday assembly (various themes)

  • 2.40pm - Friday - Special Mentions Assembly (open to parents)
